The Only Strategy You Need

I see you frantically typing, “How do I heal my chronic low back pain?”. Or, substitute neck pain or headaches, or even anxiety.

Do other experts online make it look like it should be a quick and easy thing to do? Ever wonder what their secret is? Most of them don’t have a secret.

Most likely, they’re using some portion of the strategy I’m about to share with you. I call it my Corrective Rebalancing Program.

Luckily, I’m not one to keep such success to myself.

So grab a refreshing glass of your favorite beverage and let’s get into how you can achieve long term pain relief in as little as 2 to 3 months.

Clarify Your Chronic Pain Goals

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of the strategy, we have to ensure we know where this chronic pain healing journey is going.

If you’ve struggled with overcoming chronic or recurrent neck or back pain or headaches in the past, it may have been because you lacked a comprehensive approach to both identifying the source of the problem and a strategy to correct it.

Here’s how you can clarify your chronic pain goals. Ask yourself:

  • What am I looking to achieve once I experience pain relief?
  • Why is this achievement so important to me?
  • Am I willing to commit to a process and my role in my recovery?

Once you answer these questions, you will have a clear guiding light as to your motivation and the why behind it. This doesn’t have to be hard but it will take doing this differently.

After all, what you’ve done thus far hasn’t worked.

What is the Corrective Rebalancing Program?

If you’ve heard of the Corrective Rebalancing Program before, you may think it is a rehash of what Physical Therapists and Chiropractors are already doing.

Instead, it is a much more comprehensive approach to correcting the primary imbalances that cause and perpetuate chronic pain.

To put it simply, the Corrective Rebalancing Program is a 4 strategy approach that addresses all the primary imbalances and deficits that perpetuate chronic neck and back pain.

The Only Strategy You Need: Corrective Rebalancing Program

Even if you have tried Physical Therapy or traditional Chiropractic you are going to find out that this program is different. And, better.

Ready? Let’s dig in.

Corrective Rebalancing Program Part #1: A Return to Balance

Studies have shown that a loss of balance in the structure of the body is a contributing factor to pain and the development of degenerative arthritis.

Let’s compare the structure of your body to a car and your joints to the tires. If the front end is out of alignment and the wheels are not balanced a couple of things are going to happen.

  1. The vehicle is not going to drive well. You will fight to keep it traveling in a straight line.
  2. The tires are going to wear out far too fast.

The same applies to your body. If your pelvis and spine are not balanced you are putting excess stress on the joints and the result is the development of arthritis.

When you can return your structure to a state of balance, it will reduce the tension your body is holding and allow you to move through your day with far less pain.

My favorite way to help people experience greater balance is to have them experience the loss of balance and then within minutes what it feels like to have more balance in their structure.

I have a brilliant post explaining balance. Check it out here Are You Out of Balance?

Corrective Rebalancing Part #2: Stop Stretching Thinking it is Going to Change Your Pain

I know this flies against conventional wisdom. Almost everyone that comes into my office has been stretching in an attempt to relieve their pain. If it worked they wouldn’t be coming in.

Have you been struggling with what to do to relieve your chronic pain?

Back in the early days of my exploration into correction I was in a similar boat as you. I had my toolkit of strategies that helped reduce pain and tension but nothing really changed what was going on long term.

It wasn’t until I started adding some other strategies and tracked the outcomes of each that I was able to create a comprehensive program that addresses the biggest obstacles to long term pain relief.

You may not be able to stop your pain right away, and that’s okay. But you can start implementing the strategies to change how your spine and nervous system works, and little by little, you’ll find you have no need for pain medication and stretching and a host of other treatments (which is great, because they don’t work anyway!).

Here are 3 tips to help you get started with restoring proper motion so that you don’t feel the need to stretch. These are the exact steps I use to get results with my clients:

  • Corrective Chiropractic Care: there is no substitute for corrective chiropractic as it brings balance back to your structure and then restores proper motion to the joints.
  • Reinforce the improved motion with specific practices to establish the restored motion as the norm. Otherwise the restriction is likely to recur.
  • Activate the Posterior Chain: these are the critical muscles that are neglected by our modern lifestyle. They are the primary muscles that hold us up against gravity.

Corrective Rebalancing Part #3. Activate the Posterior Chain

When you first set out to correct your chronic pain, you will likely experience some frustration and fluctuations in your pain.

A surefire way to combat this is by activating what is called the Posterior Chain.

When you activate the posterior chain, you end up counteracting many of the negative aspects of our current lifestyle like all the sitting we do.

This means you stabilize the muscles of the spine and improve your posture.

While I stand by this being a critical strategy you need, you must do the other steps as well. If you don’t balance things out your posterior chain activation is going to reinforce the imbalances.

If you don’t restore proper motion to the joints of the spine and pelvis you might reduce your pain but you will still experience accelerated degeneration.

Once I started combining corrective chiropractic care with spinal motion practices and posterior chain activation people with the most chronic pain began to improve.

Yesterday afternoon I saw a patient I hadn’t seen in a month. When he first came in 5 months ago he had been experiencing pain down his leg for a year. His x-rays show advanced disc degeneration. Corrective chiropractic care and posterior chain activation has his pain a fraction of what it was. It sometimes radiates into his buttock but no longer down to his foot.

Just this morning another wellness patient came in. She’s in her 50s and when she first came in she had been to her MD and to an orthopedic surgeon who wanted to inject her hip. We found more of a problem in her low back than her hip. She had been having pain for years. She’s back to running and experiencing minimal to no low back and hip pain.
