Modern healthcare has failed those in pain. This article notes that chronic pain, lasting more than 3 months affects one in five people. Low back pain is the most common cause of chronic pain and the leading cause of disability.
More people are quitting the typical medical treatment route because of lack of progress in relieving their pain and the downside of daily medication…
Common NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have enough serious complications that many reconsider if the risk is worth the short term relief. These complications include:
- GI bleeding
- Heart attacks
- Stroke
- Kidney damage
- Heartburn / Acid Reflux
And what I mean by that is, they aren’t noticing enough changes or feel like they are doing the right things to move the needle forward when it comes to their pain. On top of the risks above many of these drugs actually accelerate the degeneration of the joint cartilage. That’s what we call degenerative arthritis.
Sometimes little can be done to change the cause of pain and that’s where pain management comes in. The downside to this approach is that over time the condition only worsens and you are exposed to the side effects of medications or the pain and inconvenience of repeated injections.
Sound familiar?
If so, I want to help you understand what you really need in moments like this.
Simply put, you need to have something that allows you to KNOW (not guess) when the treatment program works. Sometimes it can take 3 to 4 weeks of treatment to start moving the needle so that you experience a consistent reduction in pain. More often the pain starts to reduce within the first couple of weeks.
What treatment program, you ask?
Well, we think of your healing just like baking. When you cook you add a pinch of this and a pinch of that to taste. Baking is much more precise. Everything is very measured and specific to the recipe you are using.
If you are baking a cake and add too much salt… you get a salty cake.
And if you add too little flour… you’ll get a flat, runny cake.
Your program to get you back to doing everything you once did with confidence in your body once again… is no different. But, your recipe or program is specifically yours.
In my office, Life Chiropractic of Grass Valley, not only do you get a program specific to you but each and every visit we assess what you need that day to support your body in healing and recovering from your pain.
My goal is less to “fix” you and more about helping your body return to a place of balance where it can heal and recover on its own.
There’s always a “sweet spot”.
But how do you know you’re in the “sweet spot”?
Most of the time you will feel an almost immediate improvement such that simple movements that were painful before your adjustment become much smoother and more comfortable immediately after. When there is significant swelling and inflammation this process can take from a few days to a week or so.
Based on my own personal experience and my practice experience over almost 4 decades I have put together a program that addresses the universal elements that affect almost 100% of people experiencing neck pain, headaches, back pain, sciatica, hip pain, etc.
I call this program the “Corrective Rebalancing Program” and it consists of:
- Corrective Chiropractic Care: this is different and an advancement of traditional chiropractic. The focus is on returning the body to balance and alignment.
- Posterior Chain Activation: this is critical especially with lower back pain, hip pain, and sciatica. This turns on the vital muscles of movement and posture.
- Spinal Joint Flossing: restoring healthy joint motion is essential. These simple exercises help retain healthy motion of the spinal facet joints.
- Stress Resilience Blueprint: everyone with chronic pain also has an imbalance in their autonomic nervous system that helps drive pain, muscle spasm, and tension. This program helps increase vagus nerve activity and restore balance to the autonomic nervous system.
